Job summary

NSW Health Pathology is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist to join the Port Macquarie Base Hospital team on a temporary full-time basis. The role involves delivering operational laboratory activities, supporting patient care, and contributing to quality management in a busy hospital laboratory.

Applicants should hold a Bachelor degree in Science/Medical Laboratory Science or equivalent and have experience with pathology services, information systems, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree or higher in Science/Medical Laboratory Science or equivalent.
• Experience with pathology services and laboratory information systems.
• Good oral/written communication and report writing skills.
• Ability to manage priorities and deadlines in a busy lab environment.
• Demonstrated teamwork and independent work within a diagnostic setting.
• Knowledge of work health and safety and privacy requirements.

Responsibilities

• Deliver operational laboratory activities and coordinate scientific/technical training.
• Contribute to quality management, procedures, and continual process improvement.
• Support patient care by providing accurate diagnostic services within a multidisciplinary team.
