Job summary

NSW Health Pathology invites applications for a Medical Laboratory Scientist in the Bacteriology Division at Royal North Shore Hospital. This permanent, full-time role supports a dynamic team delivering diagnostic laboratory services in a frontline setting.

You will participate in 24/7 roster shifts after training, with opportunities for professional growth, training and access to health and wellbeing programs. Applicants must have relevant pathology qualifications and a strong service focus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree or higher in Science/Medical Laboratory Science or equivalent.
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in pathology services delivered by laboratory work.
• Familiar with Laboratory Information Systems, patient systems and quality control systems; MS Office proficiency.
• Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills and report writing ability.
• Ability to manage priorities, work autonomously, and contribute to a team.
• Demonstrated initiative, problem solving and analytical skills; understanding of WHS and privacy.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a range of operational lab activities and coordinate training.
• Contribute to ongoing review, development and quality management of practices.
• Participate in a 24/7 rotating roster and on-call shifts after training.
