Job summary

Lumus Imaging Fairfield is seeking a motivated Medical Imaging Assistant to support radiographers in delivering a smooth, safe, and caring patient experience. You will be involved in patient preparation, transfers, and maintaining a well-organised imaging unit as you progress toward graduate registration.

This role is ideal for students in the final years of their radiography degree seeking hands-on experience within a national imaging network.

Responsibilities

• Welcoming and preparing patients for examinations, including changing and escorting them through the department.
• Assisting radiographers with patient transfers and positioning support under supervision.
• Ensuring patient comfort, safety and dignity, including for anxious and unwell patients.
• Maintaining clean, well-stocked rooms and following infection control standards.
• Supporting the front desk and clinical team to keep the day running on time.
• Observing a wide range of examinations to build clinical knowledge.

About the role

• Currently enrolled in the 3rd or 4th year of a Bachelor of Medical Radiation Science (or equivalent radiography degree)
• Committed to building your career in diagnostic imaging, with the goal of joining us as a graduate
• A patient-first approach, with a warm, calm and professional manner
• Strong communication skills and a genuine team-player attitude
• Reliable, punctual and happy to take feedback on board
• Availability to work shifts around your study commitment
