Job summary

Synergy, Western Australia’s leading energy provider, is seeking a Media Lead for a 12-month max-term role in Perth Central Park. You will lead the media function, guide a team of advisors, and work across the organisation to craft integrated communications and crisis response strategies.

You will partner with stakeholders to protect and enhance Synergy’s reputation and support organisational objectives while delivering proactive media engagement and expert advisory to senior leaders.

Qualifications

• Qualifications in communications, media, public relations or related discipline.
• 8+ years in delivering strategic communications, media engagement and reputation advice.
• Experience leading teams in fast-paced environments with deadlines.
• Proven ability to build and manage stakeholder relationships.
• Excellent written communication with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of media advisors to deliver a high-performing media function.
• Own Synergy’s media relations, building strong relationships with journalists and media outlets.
• Lead media response during issues and crises as part of the crisis comms team.
• Provide expert media advice to senior leaders, including spokesperson training.
• Partner with internal teams to deliver integrated communications outcomes across priority initiatives.
