Workshop-based role in Rydalmere

Job summary

Maxwell Recruitment is seeking an experienced Mechanical Trade Assistant to join a well-established engineering and maintenance business based in Rydalmere. The role focuses on mechanical support in a workshop setting, with some basic electrical-related tasks and exposure to rotating equipment.

You will assist fitters with repairs and overhauls, strip and reassemble equipment, and handle bearings, shafts, seals, and other components, using hand and power tools throughout the workshop.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as Mechanical Trade Assistant, Electrical Trade Assistant or Workshop TA.
• Good mechanical aptitude and confidence using hand and power tools.
• Experience with industrial machinery or rotating equipment.
• Some electrical knowledge or exposure to electrical work would be advantageous.
• Experience working with Fitters and Electricians.
• Gantry/Overhead Crane ticket highly essitional.

Responsibilities

• Assisting Mechanical and Electrical Fitters with repairs and overhauls.
• Stripping, dismantling and reassembling industrial equipment.
• Assisting with bearings, shafts, seals and other mechanical components.
• Completing basic electrical-related tasks under qualified tradespeople.
• Using hand and power tools throughout the workshop.
• Moving and positioning equipment and components.
