Job summary

Maxwell Recruitment & Training in Rutherford, NSW, is seeking experienced Mechanical Fitters for workshop-based work on underground mining equipment. Carry out overhauls, repairs and maintenance, diagnose faults, disassemble and reassemble components, and ensure testing and inspections are completed to a high standard.

Trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter is essential. This casual role offers starting pay from $60.00 per hour, overtime opportunities, and a modern local workshop environment

Qualifications

• Trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter or equivalent is essential.
• Experience with heavy equipment overhauls, repairs and assembly is highly regarded.
• Basic hydraulic knowledge is desirable.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and fault-finding abilities are required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out mechanical overhauls, repairs and maintenance on underground monorails and associated equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical faults.
• Disassemble, inspect, repair and reassemble mechanical components.
• Complete testing and inspections to ensure equipment is operating correctly.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections and component replacements.
• Follow workplace safety procedures and maintain a high standard of workmanship.
