Job summary

Nestlé Gympie Factory in Queensland is seeking a Mechanical Technician/Mechanical Fitter to join the Maintenance Team, focusing on reliability and safe operation across manufacturing, filling & packaging, and utilities.

You will perform planned, preventive, and corrective work, diagnose faults, and contribute to continuous improvement, with SAP work orders and strong teamwork across Operations and Engineering.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in Mechanical Fitting, Fitter & Turner, Mechanical Maintenance or equivalent.
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience maintaining pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, bearings, pneumatic systems, valves, and rotating equipment.
• Commitment to workplace safety and safe work practices.
• Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
• Computer literacy and willingness to utilise maintenance management systems (SAP).

Responsibilities

• Perform planned, preventative, and corrective maintenance activities.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical equipment faults in a timely manner.
• Support breakdown response and troubleshooting activities.
• Execute maintenance work in accordance with safety, quality, and GMP requirements.
• Participate in continuous improvement and breakdown elimination initiatives.
• Complete maintenance documentation and work orders within SAP.
• Assist with shutdown planning and execution.
• Work collaboratively with Operations, Engineering, Contractors, and fellow Maintenance Team members.
• Contribute to equipment reliability improvements and asset care programs.
