CSIRO is seeking a Mechanical Technician to join the Engineering and Technical Services (ETS) team in Hobart. In this hands-on role, you will help deliver innovative engineering solutions that support a diverse range of scientific research and technology development activities across CSIRO.

• Certificate III in Mechanical Engineering (Trade) or equivalent.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and deliver work under the general direction of senior technical staff.
• Proactive approach to problem-solving and willingness to contribute ideas in support of scientific research.

Responsabilidades

• Provide mechanical and technical engineering support to research projects through the Engineering and Technical Services facility.
• Fabricate, modify and maintain equipment and components used in scientific research and engineering development activities.
• Design or adapt equipment, techniques and processes to meet project requirements and client needs.
• Conduct technical testing, investigations, measurements and analysis, including associated calculations and reporting.
• Maintain and troubleshoot complex equipment and support ongoing research operations.
• Collaborate with scientists, engineers, suppliers and colleagues across multidisciplinary teams.
