Job summary

CDC Data Centres Pty in Australia seeks a Mechanical Services Lead to shape the performance and resilience of our data centre cooling infrastructure across ANZ. You’ll focus on liquid cooling and critical systems, guiding projects from design through commissioning and modernisation, working with multidisciplinary teams to resolve complex issues.

You are a seasoned mechanical engineer with 3+ years in data centres or critical facilities, comfortable reviewing designs and mentoring colleagues

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience across data centres, industrial buildings, engineering consultancy or another complex critical infrastructure environment.
• Strong technical knowledge of cooling infrastructure such as air-cooled chillers, AHUs, pumps, VSDs and associated mechanical systems.
• Experience with liquid cooling technologies, CDUs, SFNs or similar high-density cooling solutions will be highly regarded.
• Ability to review technical designs, drawings, specifications, engineering calculations and supporting documentation.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to collaborate across mechanical, electrical, controls, fire and operational disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Act as a subject matter expert across critical mechanical and cooling infrastructure, providing technical guidance to operational teams across our portfolio.
• Support the development and evolution of liquid cooling solutions, including Cooling Distribution Units (CDUs), Secondary Fluid Networks (SFNs) and associated infrastructure.
• Assess mechanical designs, proposed system changes and upgrade activities to ensure solutions are resilient, practical and aligned with operational requirements.
• Analyse and troubleshoot mechanical system performance issues, partnering with consultants, contractors and internal teams to develop effective solutions.
• Contribute to commissioning, lifecycle planning and modernisation activities across existing and new data centre environments.
• Strengthen mechanical engineering standards, procedures and ways of working, while sharing technical knowledge and mentoring others across the business.
