Job summary

Komatsu Underground seeks a mechanical service technician to support underground customers in the Mudgee region, NSW. You may travel to sites, with onboarding and product training provided to ensure readiness.

You will plan your week around customer needs, with Tuesday to Friday site visits typical and a fully maintained service vehicle provided. An annual bonus up to 5% of base salary is available.

Qualifications

• Qualified mechanical tradesperson with strong diagnostic abilities.
• Experience servicing underground mining equipment.
• Ability to work autonomously and manage field service logistics.

Responsibilities

• Provide proactive technical support to customers in the field.
• Coordinate start-up and commissioning of Joy Global equipment.
• Support engineering and document field results for RCA where needed.
• Engage with stakeholders to identify customer solutions opportunities.

Job Overview

Komatsu Underground are on the hunt for a mechanical service technician to support our underground customers in the Mudgee region.

How you plan your week will depend on where you call home. You may be travelling to site and staying a few nights per week or driving daily to site if you live more locally to our customer sites.

You’ll have the autonomy to plan your week according to your customer’s requirements. Don’t worry, first we ensure you’re ready by providing you an extensive onboarding program and classroom-based product training at our training centre of excellence.

You'll bring:

• Mechanical Trade Qualification.
• Experience working underground with longwall or development mining equipment.
• Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
• Able to work in an autonomous role.

Key job responsibilities:

• Provide customers with pro-active advice and support.
• Facilitate flawless start-up of Joy Global equipment.
• Support engineering and be directly involved with machine commissioning.
• Provide advanced technical support for Joy equipment in the field.
• Coordinate new product field trials and document results including any opportunities for product enhancement.
• Collate field data and evidence for Root Cause Analysis (RCA) activities for major failures and unresolved reliability issues.
• Engage with key stakeholders to identify opportunities to offer solutions for customer needs.
