Job summary

UGL is seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Engineer to join our site-based project delivery team on a FIFO roster in Australia. You will coordinate mechanical construction activities on site, manage subcontractors, monitor progress and ensure safety, quality and cost targets are met.

The role offers exposure to major energy, renewables and industrial projects within a leading infrastructure and services group.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience as a Project Engineer on construction, mining, energy, oil & gas, renewables or industrial projects.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
• Willingness to work FIFO roster.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise mechanical construction activities onsite.
• Manage subcontractors and suppliers to ensure works are completed safely and efficiently.
• Monitor project progress against schedule and support recovery planning where required.
• Review engineering drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
• Prepare and manage work packs, construction methodologies and project reports.
• Ensure compliance with project quality requirements, specifications and standards.
• Coordinate inspections, testing and commissioning activities.
• Support procurement and material management activities to ensure timely delivery of equipment and materials.
• Assist with project forecasting, cost control and budget monitoring.
• Identify and manage project risks and opportunities.
• Prepare progress reports and provide regular updates to project leadership teams.
• Foster a strong safety culture and ensure all works are completed in accordance with UGL and client HSE requirements.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with clients, subcontractors and internal stakeholders.
