Job summary

Glencore Australia is seeking an experienced Project Engineer (Mechanical) to join our Projects team at McArthur River Mine (MRM). This FIFO role offers an 8 days on/6 days off roster and the opportunity to deliver mechanical projects across a major mining operation from concept through to handover.

You will work with operations, maintenance, engineering, contractors and other stakeholders to deliver safe, on-time and within-budget outcomes, maintaining high technical standards across fixed

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience delivering mechanical projects in mining, heavy industry, processing or resources sector.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, project management and construction practices.

Responsibilities

• Support Project Managers from concept and design and planning through to construction, commissioning and handover.
• Support project scopes, schedules, cost estimates and budgets.
• Support projects to comply with relevant Australian Standards, legislation and site requirements.
• Provide technical engineering support throughout project execution.
• Support engineering consultants, contractors and suppliers to ensure project deliverables are achieved.
• Monitor project progress, costs, quality and schedule performance.
• Identify and manage project risks, issues and opportunities.
• Work closely with operations and maintenance teams to ensure project outcomes meet operational requirements.
• Ensure appropriate documentation, drawings, specifications and project records are maintained.
• Promote and maintain a strong safety culture in line with Glencore values.
