Job summary

Aggreko is seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer to lead the mechanical scope on a major mining development in regional Queensland. This site-based role on a 2/1 roster involves coordinating design, procurement and construction activities with cross-disciplinary teams, while travel from Brisbane is arranged.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering (Degree or Advanced Diploma).
• Minimum 2 years' experience in a mechanical project engineering role within construction, mining, or heavy industrial environments.
• Experience delivering fixed plant, structural/mechanical, or piping installation works on greenfield or brownfield sites.
• Strong understanding of relevant Australian Standards and mechanical safety requirements.
• Experience working with EPC or construction contractors on resource sector projects.
• Proficient in MS Office and document control systems.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Current driver's license; willingness to travel and work FIFO/DIDO on a 2/1 roster.
• Current Construction Induction (White Card).

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate mechanical scope of works including installation of infrastructure and piping.
• Liaise with civil, electrical, and other disciplines.
• Review mechanical design drawings and specifications.
• Coordinate subcontractors to deliver safely and on schedule.
• Prepare and manage mechanical work packages and procurement.
• Liaise with client representatives and project stakeholders.
• Monitor progress, cost, and quality against targets.
• Identify and manage project risks, variations and changes.
• Support pre-commissioning and commissioning activities.
• Ensure compliance with Australian Standards and site HSE requirements.
• Contribute to construction methodologies and ITPs.
• Participate in safety inductions and incident investigations.
