Job summary

CIMIC Group is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to manage project cost control, revenue management and forecasting, as well as providing technical engineering solutions to site.

You will prepare tenders, reports, budgets, and specifications, while supporting procurement and asset disposal and ensuring compliance with policies. This role also includes mentoring site personnel, maintaining CMMS data, and collaborating with stakeholders across projects in Melbourne.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Engineering (preferably Mechanical).
• Strong understanding of engineering principles and asset management.
• Experience in construction/mining/resources or related project environments.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Familiarity with CMMS/JDE or similar maintenance systems.

Responsibilities

• Prepare tenders, reports, budgets and specifications for projects.
• Manage plant hire rates and cost estimates for tenders and planning.
• Support cost control, forecasting and financial administration on site.
• Maintain project documentation and data integrity.
• Provide technical engineering guidance to site teams and graduates.
• Coordinate subcontractors and suppliers to ensure compliant execution.
• Develop business cases for capex and asset management.
• Contribute to planning, scheduling and resource allocation activities.
