Job summary

Electro Optic Systems in Australia is seeking a Mechanical / Production Engineer who will apply disciplined engineering techniques across software, mechanical, electronics and system domains to support EOS DS product development and goals.

You will provide production engineering support to the manufacturing group, develop production procedures, mentor staff, and work with cross-functional teams to improve quality, safety and efficiency in a defence environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in production/engineering.
• Ability to communicate and influence to implement requirements.
• Experience with multidisciplinary teams in product environments.
• Desirable experience in Defence sector.

Responsibilities

• Provide production engineering support to the manufacturing group.
• Support other work groups within EOSDS to manage bedding down in manufacturing new products.
• Undertake the design and development of production files, aid jigs and fixtures.
• Undertake the development of production procedures for new products.
• Coordinate, monitor and analyse production metrics.
• Mentor Production staff in support of production objectives.
• Provide production capacity support when available.
• Monitor and report WHS or security issues to the Lead Production Engineer.
• Adhere to company procedures to achieve a safe and secure work environment.
• Assist in implementation of Lean manufacturing practices to develop VSM.
