Job summary

InfraBuild is seeking a Senior Mechanical Planning Leader to guide a maintenance planning team at the Sydney Rolling Mill. You will scope, schedule and optimise outages, maintain safe practices, and drive continuous improvement across maintenance reliability.

Lead cross-functional collaboration with operations, stores and procurement to secure resources and spares, while supporting after-hours needs and coaching staff toward high performance. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Sydney.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in a heavy industrial, manufacturing or maintenance environment.
• Relevant Trade or Engineering qualifications.
• Strong safety leadership and a demonstrated commitment to safe work practices.
• Proven experience leading teams and driving maintenance, reliability and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Experience using CMMS systems, preferably SAP.
• Exceptional planning, prioritisation and problem-solving skills, with the flexibility to support after-hours operational requirements when needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Maintenance Planners responsible for delivering safe, efficient and reliable maintenance outcomes across the site.
• Plan and coordinate maintenance activities, shutdowns and major works to maximise equipment reliability and minimise downtime.
• Plan and coordinate day-to-day and downtime lubrication activities.
• Drive compliance with maintenance planning standards, ensuring work is properly scoped, scheduled, executed and recorded.
• Build relationships with maintenance, operations, stores and procurement to ensure resources and critical spares are available.
• Champion safety by promoting best practice and leading by example.
• Identify equipment improvement opportunities and implement reliability-focused solutions to enhance plant performance.
• Coach and develop team members and foster a high-performing culture.
