Origin Energy is seeking a hands-on Mechanical Technician in Queensland to service critical plant equipment, including gas engines and compressors. You will focus on proactive maintenance, troubleshooting rotating equipment, and ensuring safe, reliable operations in a remote site setting.

The role offers 2 weeks on/2 weeks off DIDO or FIFO from Brisbane, or live locally near the Chinchilla region, with a collaborative team and emphasis on safety and continuous improvement.

Qualifikationen

• Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade; current driver’s licence required.
• Hands-on mechanical maintenance experience, exposure to gas engines, rotating equipment, high‑pressure compression.
• Strong troubleshooting skills with a safety-first approach to identifying and solving plant issues.
• Experience using SAP for work orders and materials management.

About the role:

Bring your mechanical know-how to Talinga and play a hands-on role in keeping critical plant safe, reliable and running at its best. You'll tackle maintenance, troubleshooting and equipment reliability, with experience working on rotating equipment, particularly reciprocating compressors or screw compressors, highly regarded.

What will you bring?

• A Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade and a current driver's licence.
• Hands-on mechanical maintenance experience, with exposure to gas engines, rotating equipment, high-pressure compression or complex control systems highly regarded.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and a practical, safety-first approach to identifying and solving plant issues.
• Confidence using computer-based maintenance systems, with experience in SAP relevant to work orders and materials management.
• A collaborative, positive approach with the ability to work independently, build strong relationships and contribute to continuous improvement
