Job summary

BlueScope is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Coordinator for Port Kembla to plan, coordinate and deliver BOS shutdown campaigns in a heavy industrial environment. You will manage work scopes, budgets and schedules while leading multi-disciplinary teams of engineers, tradespeople and contractors to ensure safe, on-time campaign delivery.

Qualifications

• Mechanical trade qualification or tertiary mechanical engineering degree.
• Experience coordinating shutdowns, outages, or major maintenance campaigns.
• Experience in heavy industry or similar environments.
• Strong planning, scheduling and contractor management skills.
• Experience with maintenance management systems (SAP/CMMS).
• Commitment to safety leadership and continuous improvement.
• Experience conducting root cause analysis and driving improvements.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, scheduling and execution of BOS shutdown campaigns with scopes, budgets and timelines.
• Coordinate maintenance across teams, contractors and stakeholders.
• Oversee shutdown execution, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency.
• Provide technical support for mechanical activities during campaigns.
• Review outcomes and drive improvements for future campaigns.
• Respond to equipment issues during campaign periods.
