Job summary

Genuine Parts Company is seeking a Mechanical Fitter & Turner to maintain, repair and overhaul a range of rotating equipment in our Acacia Ridge workshop and at customer sites in SE Queensland.

You will enable site-based work as required, with a company vehicle and fuel card provided. The role offers a clear career path, market-aligned remuneration and annual salary reviews as part of our benefits program.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience as a fitter and turner in a heavy industrial environment is essential.
• Experience with pumps and rotating equipment is important.
• Knowledge of mechanical seals and shaft alignment is beneficial.
• Capable of maintaining accurate maintenance records and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair and overhaul pumps, shafts, mechanical seals and other rotating equipment.
• Assemble new components including driveshafts and air brakes.
• Use workshop equipment including balances, presses, lathes and mills.
• Replace bearings and mechanical seals and complete pump alignments.
• Prioritise safety of people, plant and environment in all activities.
• Identify hazards and equipment issues and communicate faults to support operations.
• Complete required documentation accurately and timely.
