Job summary

GPC Asia Pacific is seeking a Mechanical Fitter & Turner for our Acacia Ridge Workshop in QLD. The role involves maintaining, repairing, and overhauling pumps, shafts, and rotating equipment both in the workshop and at customer sites.

You will undertake site-based work across the greater Southeast Queensland area and receive a company vehicle and fuel card. Trade qualification required with the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience working as a Fitter & Turner in a heavy industrial environment.
• Experience with Pumps, Mechanical Seals and Other Rotating Equipment.
• Flexible and adaptable, able to work under Minimal Supervision.
• Computer literate: Intermediate MS Office and email.
• Knowledge of mechanical seals, Shaft Laser Alignments and condition monitoring advantageous.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to complete maintenance records accurately.
• Trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter & Turner or equivalent.
• Current licences or tickets such as forklift, confined space, working at heights or EWP.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair and overhaul pumps, shafts, mechanical seals and other rotating equipment.
• Assemble new components including driveshafts and air brakes
• Use workshop equipment including balances, presses, lathes, mills
• Replace bearings and mechanical seals, complete pump alignments, and undertake other tasks as allocated by the Supervisor.
• Prioritise the safety of people, plant and the environment in all work activities.
• Identify and communicate hazards, equipment issues and faults to support smooth operations.
• Complete all required documentation accurately and in a timely manner.

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter & Turner to join our Workshop Team in Acacia Ridge, QLD.

In this hands-on role, you will maintain, repair and overhaul a range of rotating and fixed plant equipment, both in our workshop and at customer sites.

You must be willing and able to undertake site-based work as required across the greater Southeast Queensland area. A company vehicle & fuel card will be provided.

Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
