Job summary
Capral Limited operates Australia’s largest aluminium extrusion business at the Smithfield facility and seeks a trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter for its highly automated plant. You will work hands-on with hydraulic and pneumatic systems, diagnose faults, perform planned maintenance and assist with improvements to keep production running safely and efficiently.
The role requires reading schematics, welding and fabrication capability, and a strong commitment to workplace safety.
Qualifications
- Qualified Mechanical Fitter with hydraulic and pneumatic experience.
- Must be able to read hydraulic and pneumatic schematics.
- Industrial plant, machinery or manufacturing maintenance background.
- Welding and basic fabrication capability.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Respond to breakdowns and minimise production downtime.
- Complete planned and preventative maintenance.
- Maintain and repair mechanical and automated production equipment; read schematics.
- Carry out mechanical fault-finding, repairs and inspections.
- Assist with plant improvements and reliability initiatives.
- Undertake basic welding and fabrication as required.
- Collaborate with Production and Maintenance to keep plant running safely.
