Job summary

Wilmar Sugar Australia Limited at Proserpine Mill in the Mackay Region seeks an experienced Diesel Fitter to maintain and repair our locomotive fleet and mobile plant. This permanent role requires shift work (nights during Crushing Season, days in Maintenance Season).

You will join our Mobile Services team at Proserpine Mill. The ideal candidate holds a Certificate III in Mechanical Engineering (Diesel Fitter) or Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology and has proven diesel engine

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Mechanical Engineering (Diesel Fitter) or Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology.
• Proven experience in servicing and repairing diesel engines and mobile plant, with a strong background in heavy industrial work.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair our locomotive fleet and mobile plant.
• Work in a permanent shift pattern (nights during Crushing Season, days during Maintenance Season).

About The Role

We're seeking an experienced Diesel Fitter to join our Mobile Services team at Proserpine Mill. As a Diesel Fitter, you'll be working in a dynamic environment, maintaining and repairing our critical locomotive fleet and mobile plant. This is a permanent position which will require shift work (nights only) during the Crushing Season, June – Dec, and Day Work during the Maintenance Season, Jan - May. You'll have the chance to dive into a role that offers both challenges and rewards, making a real impact in an industry that's unlike any other.

Your Qualifications & Experience

Our ideal candidate will have:

• Certificate III in Mechanical Engineering (Diesel Fitter) or Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology.
• Proven experience in servicing and repairing diesel engines and mobile plant, with a strong background in heavy industrial work.
