Job summary

PPM Engineering, a Smithfield NSW-based industrial maintenance and fabrication business, is expanding and offering opportunities for Mechanical Fitters. The role involves site maintenance, breakdowns, installations, workshop fabrication and significant overtime during shutdowns.

A new workshop supports varied projects for Sydney’s largest manufacturers. Two Mechanical Fitter positions are available with pathways to permanent roles.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade or equivalent required.
• Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade or equivalent required.
• Strong fault-finding skills and ability to read mechanical drawings.
• Safe working practices and high workmanship standards.

Responsibilities

• Strip down, inspect, overhaul and recommission production lines and packaging machinery.
• Perform ongoing preventative maintenance and replace bearings, seals, gearboxes, drives, chains and couplings.
• Conduct precision alignment, levelling and setup of critical machinery.
• Fault-find breakdowns quickly and accurately, including hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Install and commission new production lines.
• Fabricate high-spec components in the workshop and install them on site.
