Job summary

seek.com.au is seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our team in a full-time role across Sydney Metro. The position involves working on packaging equipment for the food and beverage industry, with responsibilities including shutdowns, line coverage, machine installations, platforms and pipework, plus supporting planned maintenance across multiple sites.

Ideal candidates will have a Trade Cert III Fitter/Machinist and at least 5 years of industry experience, with TIG and Stick welding

Qualifications

• Trade qualified Mechanical Cert III Fitter/Machinist is a must.
• Minimum 5 years experience in Industry/manufacturing/FMGG experience.
• Welding Skills - TIG and Stick.
• Be proactive in completing preventative maintenance.
• Assist in fault finding, troubleshooting and repairs of machinery.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to diagnose and resolve complex equipment issues.
• Initiative and ability to self-motivate and work unsupervised.

Responsibilities

• Work on packaging equipment for the food & beverage industry.
• Handle shutdowns, line coverage, and machine installations.
• Carry out platforms, pipework and cover planned maintenance days at various sites across Sydney.
• Fault finding, troubleshooting and repairs of machinery as required.
• Operate with safety and WHS compliance at all times.

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our team. This is a full time role that will involve working on packaging equipment for the food & beverage industry. Shutdowns, line coverage, machine installations, platforms, pipework, and Covering planned maintenance days at various sites across Sydney Metro Area.

Requirements & Qualifications:

Immediate start

Trade qualified Mechanical Cert III Fitter/Machinist is a must

Minimum 5 years experience in Industry/ manufacturing/ FMGG experience

Be proactive in completing preventative maintenance.

Assist in fault finding, troubleshooting and repairs of machinery

Versatility to undertake various tasks on a day to day basis

Meet customers strict WHS requirements

Must have Current Australian Drivers Licence

Forklift, Boom & Scissor lift, Confined space tickets an advantage

Ability to adapt to new technology

Great work ethic with the ability to work autonomously or part of a team.
