Job summary

Precision Metal Group (PMG) is seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our 24/7 maintenance team at Wetherill Park, NSW. The role focuses on maintaining plant equipment, responding to breakdowns, and performing preventative maintenance to minimise downtime.

Applicants should hold a Mechanical Trade Qualification, have plant maintenance experience, and possess current First Aid, Forklift and EWP tickets, plus Working at Heights and Confined Space credentials.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in mechanical fitting or equivalent.
• Experience with plant maintenance and manufacturing.
• Current First Aid certificate.
• Forklift Licence and EWP Ticket.
• Working at Heights and Confined Space Tickets.
• Proficient with reading mechanical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Perform fitting, machining, and mechanical maintenance activities
• Carry out preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs
• Undertake welding and fabrication work as required
• Maintain and repair plant equipment and machinery
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, workshop drawings, work orders, and production schedules
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with safety, quality, and company standards

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our maintenance team working at a 24/7 manufacturing facility in Wetherill Park. This hands-on role is responsible for maintaining plant equipment, responding to breakdowns, and carrying out preventative maintenance to ensure optimal operational performance while minimising downtime.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform fitting, machining, and mechanical maintenance activities
• Carry out preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs
• Undertake welding and fabrication work as required
• Maintain and repair plant equipment and machinery
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, workshop drawings, work orders, and production schedules
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with safety, quality, and company standards

About You

• Mechanical Trade Qualification
• Previous plant maintenance and manufacturing experience
• Current First Aid Certificate
• Current Forklift Licence and EWP (Elevated Work Platform) Ticket
• Current Working at Heights and Confined Space Tickets
• Strong computer and systems literacy
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Excellent work ethic with a strong commitment to workplace safety
