Job summary

Motion Asia Pacific Rutherford is seeking a hands-on Mechanical Fitter for hydraulic hose manufacturing, fitting, repairs and field service support. You will travel to customer sites to diagnose and repair hydraulic components, and perform maintenance on mobile and fixed plant equipment.

Ideal candidates have Certificate III in Engineering (Mechanical Trade) and 2+ years' experience, strong troubleshooting and customer service skills, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Engineering (Mechanical Trade) is required.
• Two+ years' experience in mechanical fitting, servicing or repair preferred.
• Knowledge of mechanical inspection, servicing and repair methods.
• Experience rebuilding and repairing hydraulic components, transmissions and undercarriage.
• Strong troubleshooting, time-management and customer-service skills.
• Current driver’s license is essential.
• Commitment to safe work practices and ability to work on-site.
• Ability to work autonomously and with a team.

Responsibilities

• Service and repair hydraulic and pneumatic equipment across automotive, commercial, and industrial apps.
• Maintain and overhaul mobile and fixed plant equipment and components.
• Assemble and overhaul undercarriage and final drive components.
• Conduct audits, inspections and hydraulic fault diagnosis.
• Travel to customer sites to inspect, diagnose, install and repair hoses and fittings.

Are you a qualified Mechanical Fitter looking for a hands-on role with variety?

Join our Rutherford branch and use your technical skills across hydraulic hose manufacturing, fitting, repairs and field service support.

Travel to customer sites to inspect, diagnose, remove, install and repair hydraulic hoses, fittings and related components.

Your Day-to-Day Will Include

• Service and Repairs of hydraulic and pneumatic equipment for automotive, commercial, off highway and industrial applications.
• Maintenance and overhaul of mobile, fixed plant equipment and components.
• Quality results in agreed timeframes.
• Assemble and overhaul of undercarriage and final drive components.
• Conduct audits, inspections and hydraulic fault diagnosis.
• Assist with other production activities and general workshop duties as required.

Who Are You

• Certificate III in Engineering (Mechanical Trade)
• At least two years’ experience in a similar mechanical fitting, service or repair role is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of mechanical inspection, servicing and repair methods.
• Experience in rebuilding and repairing hydraulic components, transmissions, and undercarriage.
• Strong troubleshooting, time-management and customer-service skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Current driver’s license - essential
• Focused on quality work & customer service excellence.
• Commitment towards safe work practices
• Flexible and willingness to carryout site work as required.
• Work autonomously and in a team environment
