Job summary

Visy in Wodonga is seeking an Apprentice Fitter to join our maintenance team. This full-time fixed-term role operates a day shift from 7am to 3pm with overtime available, reporting to the Maintenance Manager.

You’ll contribute to keeping our board plant running smoothly and safely while you train with qualified Fitters. Open to apprentices at all levels, we’ll support your TAFE coursework, hands-on machining and welding tasks, and safety compliance as part of our continuous improvement culture

Qualifications

• Open to apprentices at all levels including 1st to 4th year.
• Willingness to learn and attend TAFE coursework.
• Interest in manual machining and welding tasks.
• Commitment to safety and adherence to policies.

Responsibilities

• Work under qualified Fitters to perform routine maintenance.

Role details:

We’re seeking an Apprentice Fitter to join our Wodonga Board Plant. This is a full-time Fixed-term role on a day shift 7am – 3pm with overtime available. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you’ll play a role in keeping our plant running smoothly and safely.

What you’ll do:

• Working under the supervision of qualified Fitters to complete routine maintenance tasks.
• Completing manual machining and welding tasks as part of our preventative maintenance schedule.
• Attending TAFE and completing coursework to complete your apprenticeship.
• Strong safety mindset and adherence to policies and procedures.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing.

What you’ll bring:

• Any level of experience, from 1st year through to 4th year.
• Mechanically minded and interested in hands‑on tasks.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment a bonus.
• Passion for your trade and willingness to learn.
• A proactive attitude and commitment to safety.
