Job summary

Orana Engineering in Townsville is seeking a Mechanical Engineer (including graduates) to join our close-knit team and contribute to mining and heavy industrial projects, commencing in January 2027.

This full-time role blends office-based design with site-based project management, offering mentorship from senior and RPEQ engineers and opportunities to progress while delivering real-world engineering solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) recognised by Engineers Australia.
• Experience in mining, oil and gas and heavy industrial sectors is beneficial.
• RPEQ status is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Promote a strong safety culture across all projects.
• Perform mechanical design including pumping, piping and structural.
• Ensure compliance with Australian Standards and industry best practices.
• Utilise engineering design software (AutoCAD, Inventor, etc.).
• Conduct audits, inspections and design reviews; deliver reports and presentations.
• Manage and support project management across multidisciplinary projects.
• Support junior engineers and collaborate with clients and vendors.
• Participate in onsite and office-based works through project lifecycle.
