Job summary

Orana Engineering in Mackay is seeking a Mechanical Engineer (incl graduates) to join a close-knit team. You will contribute to multidisciplinary projects across mining and heavy industry, from concept through delivery, with mentorship from senior and RPEQ engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) recognised by Engineers Australia.
• Experience in mining, oil and gas and heavy industrial sectors is beneficial.
• RPEQ status is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Promote a strong safety culture across projects.
• Perform mechanical engineering design including pumping, piping and structural.
• Ensure compliance with Australian Standards (AS1170, AS1418, AS1657, AS2033, AS4041, AS4024, AS4100, ASME B31 and more).
• Utilise industry standard design software and tools (AutoCAD, Inventor, Advance Steel, Plant 3D, SPACE GASS, Pipe Flow Expert, AutoPIPE, 3D scanning).
• Perform engineering audits, inspections and design reviews, prepare reports and deliver presentations.
• Manage project delivery scope, budgets and schedules, and maintain client communications.
• Support and guide junior engineers as part of a collaborative team.
• Participate in onsite and office-based works throughout the project lifecycle.
