Insight Executive are partnering with an established FM service provider to recruit a Mechanical Technician for a permanent, full-time role in Wiltshire.

You will maintain critical mechanical building services, including boilers, pumps, heating and HVAC systems, performing PPMs and reactive maintenance in a regulated environment. Strong fault-finding skills and CAFM system experience are essential.

Salary up to £40,000 plus excellent benefits.

Qualifications

• A recognised mechanical apprenticeship or equivalent structured training.
• A Level 3 qualification such as NVQ, City & Guilds or equivalent.
• Experience in mechanical building services, facilities management or regulated environments.
• Strong fault-finding and maintenance experience.
• Experience with heating, ventilation, pumps, boilers or related plant.
• Understanding of safe systems of work, permits and mechanical isolation.
• Experience using CAFM or maintenance management systems.
• Flexible approach to shift patterns, weekend work and emergency call-outs.

Responsibilities

Mechanical Technician – Building Services

Insight Executive are working exclusively with an established FM service provider who are looking to appoint an experienced Mechanical Technician to join their team on a permanent basis.

Location: Wiltshire
Salary: Up to £40,000 + excellent benefits
Contract: Permanent, Full Time

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Mechanical Technician with a strong background in building services, mechanical maintenance, plumbing, heating or HVAC to join a well-established facilities management operation.

You will be responsible for maintaining critical mechanical building services within a large, complex and highly regulated environment, ensuring essential systems remain safe, compliant and operational.

The Role

Your responsibilities will include:

• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance
• Fault-finding, testing, servicing and repairs across mechanical building services
• Maintaining boilers, pumps, heating and chilled water systems
• Working on calorifiers, pressure systems and associated mechanical plant
• Supporting ventilation systems, including AHUs, extract systems, fans and filters
• Responding to plant failures, alarms, leaks and service interruptions
• Completing accurate maintenance records through CAFM systems
• Working in accordance with permits, RAMS, risk assessments and safe systems of work
• Supporting emergency and out-of-hours maintenance requirements when required

About You

We're interested in speaking with Mechanical Technicians who have:

• A recognised mechanical apprenticeship or equivalent structured training
• A relevant Level 3 qualification such as NVQ, City & Guilds or equivalent
• Experience within mechanical building services, facilities management, commercial, industrial or similarly regulated environments
• Strong fault-finding and mechanical maintenance experience
• Experience with heating, ventilation, pumps, boilers or associated plant
• An understanding of safe systems of work, permits and mechanical isolation
• Experience using CAFM or maintenance management systems
• A flexible approach to shift patterns, weekend working and emergency call-outs
