Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years engineering experience.

• Experience with CAD and manufacturing processes.
• Knowledge of PDM/Vault and SolidWorks.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001/14001/45001 and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Own and maintain the Product Data Management (PDM) system and manage drawings, BOMs, routings, and docs.
• Ensure visibility of engineering workflows, task status, priorities, blockers, deadlines.
• Maintain visibility on completed and outstanding work.
• Allocate checking and verification tasks to avoid bottlenecks.
• Provide weekly executive updates on velocity and workload.
• Lead through delegation and ownership of tasks.
• Develop team capability through coaching and accountability.
• Improve engineering processes, tools, and systems.

Due to growth, we're seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join their team. The Mechanical Engineer is a dynamic, high-performance leader responsible for driving the velocity, accuracy, and commercial impact of our client's engineering function. With a strong customer-first mindset, this role ensures the delivery of timely, practical, and compliant engineering solutions that support operational excellence and enhance customer satisfaction.

The Mechanical Engineer provides clear leadership across workflow management, delegation, and team capability, ensuring tasks are owned at the right level and that engineering operates with discipline, urgency, and transparency. The Mechanical Engineer maintains real-time visibility of engineering workloads, progress, and blockers through the CRM, delivering weekly executive updates and ensuring all tasks have clear owners, deadlines, and priorities.

The role:

• Own and maintain the Product Data Management (PDM) system, ensuring effective control of drawings, BOMs, routings, and technical documentation.
• Ensure visibility of engineering workflows, including task status, priorities, blockers, and deadlines.
• Maintain visibility across the team regarding what is completed, outstanding, or delaying progress.
• Allocate checking and verification tasks at the right level to effectively to avoid bottlenecks.
• Elevate all high-risk engineering issues promptly for executive visibility and decision support.
• Provide executive level weekly updates on velocity, workload, and forward planning.
• Lead through delegating, enabling the team ownership of tasks and outcomes at the right level.
• Build the teams capability through coaching, support, accountability and clear expectations.
• Reduce escalation of minor detail to executive through strong internal communications, control and structure.
• Demonstrate and lead urgency in actions, decisions, and communication through the team.
• Ensure all tasks have clear owners, deadlines, dependencies, and timely progress updates.
• Facilitate weekly team meetings to align expectations and workloads. Support with one on ones.
• Engage proactively with Technical Sales Experts to support customer responsiveness and commercial requirements.
• Provide agreed engineering solutions that balance safety, practicality, and commercial viability.
• Identify commercial opportunities working with the MD, COO, and Sales Team to develop new service offerings, IP, and revenue streams.
• Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes, tools, and systems to increase efficiency, consistency, and quality.

What we're looking for:

• Degree qualifications in Engineering (Mechanical).
• Min 3 years engineering experience
• Strong leadership and communication skills with proven ability to build and lead teams.
• Technical expertise in engineering design, CAD, and manufacturing processes.
• Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, quality standards, and compliance requirements.
• Ability to prioritise and deliver in a fast-paced, custom project environment.
• Demonstrated expertise in Product Data Management (PDM), Vault, SolidWorks, CAD systems, and engineering documentation control.
• Demonstrated capability in Additive Manufacturing (AM) applications, including design for AM,
• Exposure to ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 systems and continuous improvement frameworks.
