Job summary

Crossmuller in Somersby, NSW, is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our Engineering team at the Somersby facility. This full-time role covers scoping, design, installation and commissioning of production processing machinery.

You will design equipment, review drawings, coordinate labour and materials, liaise with stakeholders, and contribute to safety, quality and continuous improvement. A Mechanical Engineering degree and at least two years of related experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum two years of engineering experience.
• Experience installing production processing machinery.
• Strong technical, analytical, numerical and written/verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Strong coordination, leadership and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical equipment, machinery, components, plant and systems.
• Provide engineering input for installation, assembly, maintenance and commissioning of machinery.
• Review drawings, specifications, materials and equipment.
• Coordinate project labour, materials, plant and equipment.
• Liaise with management, contractors, consultants, suppliers and production teams.
• Investigate and assist with engineering and technical issues.
• Prepare project plans addressing safety, quality and environmental requirements.
• Monitor project risks, costs, progress and resource requirements.
• Support continuous improvement and efficient use of people and equipment.
• Participate in risk assessments, hazard identification and toolbox meetings.
• Maintain high standards of workplace health and safety, quality and housekeeping.
