Job summary

About the Company

Ceejay Precision Engineering, is seeking a motivated and experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, designing, developing and overseeing mechanical systems, plant, equipment and related engineering projects to support operational efficiency, quality, safety and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Planning, designing and developing mechanical equipment, machinery, steel components and systems for manufacturing and operational purposes.
  • Preparing technical specifications, engineering calculations, drawings and documentation for mechanical systems and installations.
  • Analysing and maintenance of project requirements including material selection, equipment capacities, process flow and system layouts.
  • Organising and overseeing the assembly, installation, commissioning, operation and maintenance of mechanical systems and process plant equipment.
  • Conducting engineering analysis and performance assessments to improve reliability, efficiency and productivity.
  • Developing and implementing standards and procedures relating to quality assurance, testing, inspection and maintenance activities.
  • Managing project schedules, labour allocation and procurement of materials and equipment.
  • Performing risk assessments and ensuring compliance with applicable engineering standards, safety regulations and company policies.
  • Monitoring plant and equipment performance and identifying opportunities for process improvements.
  • Liaising with project managers, suppliers, contractors and stakeholders to ensure project objectives and timelines are achieved.
  • Preparing engineering reports, technical documentation and project progress updates.
  • Supporting troubleshooting activities and providing engineering solutions to operational issues.
Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role, applicants should possess:

  • Bachelor degree or higher qualification in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field.
  • Minimum [2–5] years relevant industry experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles and engineering standards.
  • Experience with CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor or similar.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, mechanical systems and plant operations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and project coordination abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Master’s degree from approved Australian University.
  • Successful completion of Skill Assessment from Engineers Australia is mandatory for this position.
  • Membership or eligibility for membership with Engineers Australia
  • Experience in industrial, manufacturing, mining, construction or process industries.
  • Familiarity with Australian Standards and WHS requirements.
