Job summary

Protecnium seeks a Mechanical Design Review Engineer / Engineering Assurance Engineer for a heavy civil construction project in Cooma, NSW. The role focuses on detailed engineering review, verification and multidisciplinary coordination of submissions for permanent water supply systems and PSC lifts, with an emphasis on ensuring completeness, coordination and compliance.

The position starts on-site, then shifts to a hybrid arrangement with periodic on-site visits.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of mechanical/hydraulic building services or major infrastructure experience.
• Proficient in reviewing contractor and vendor shop drawings.
• Ability to interpret Australian standards and design documents.
• Experience with water treatment and potable water systems.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit/BIM for design-review tasks.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design reviews and coordination across disciplines.
• Review detailed engineering, calculations, and shop drawings for PSC lifts and water systems.
• Verify interfaces with civil, structural, electrical, and SCADA disciplines.
• Coordinate BIM reviews and track comments to close out items.
• Ensure compliance with Employer Requirements and project standards.
