Job summary

Protecnium is seeking an LV Electrical Design Review Engineer to join our team on a Heavy Civil Construction Project in Cooma, NSW. The role focuses on reviewing low-voltage electrical deliverables and coordination with subcontractors, ensuring compliance with Employer Requirements and project specs.

Initial on-site then hybrid with monthly site visits. You will verify drawings, cables, earthing, lighting, and 33 kV interfaces, coordinate BIM reviews, and escalate issues to specialists when

Qualifications

• 5+ years of LV electrical design or design-review experience on major infrastructure projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience with LV distribution, lighting and emergency lighting, and earthing.
• Working knowledge of AS/NZS 3000, 3008 and 2293 specifications.
• Ability to review Revit/BIM and AutoCAD submissions; good written-communication skills.
• Experience with 33 kV cable engineering interfaces and LV/DC auxiliary supplies.
• Familiarity with Autodesk Construction Cloud/ACC, Revizto, Aconex.
• Chartered status or eligibility for Engineers Australia chartership.

Responsibilities

• Review shop drawings, schematics, SLDs, layouts and panel schedules against design requirements.
• Check lighting, emergency lighting, exit signage, DALI controls and testing arrangements.
• Review LV distribution, loads, cable sizing, voltage drop and protection coordination.
• Check earthing, bonding, and interfaces with primary earthing and underground works.
• Coordinate BIM/Revit shop-drawing reviews and model data compliance.
• Review RFIs, change notices and design changes; escalate as needed.
• Monitor deliverables and interface coordination with subcontractors and partners.
