Job summary

Ahrens Silos, based at the Kent Town office, seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer to drive product design from concept through manufacture. You will develop detailed 3D models, create production drawings, and manage documentation in Autodesk Vault, ensuring compliance and Design for Manufacture principles.

The role involves coordinating certification, reviewing specs, and collaborating with Operations to deliver practical solutions.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 3–5 years' experience in design/drafting environment.
• Advanced Autodesk Inventor skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed 3D models, production drawings and specs in Autodesk Inventor.
• Manage engineering data and docs in Autodesk Vault PDM.
• Coordinate certification requirements across silo product range.
• Review specs and drawings for project, manufacturing and compliance.
• Apply Design for Manufacture to deliver cost-effective production.
• Prepare installation instructions and supporting docs.
• Assist with material take-offs, manufacturing requirements and cost estimating.
• Collaborate with clients, Operations and Production Managers to resolve technical issues.
