Job summary

Combined Selection Group Limited in Sydney is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Australian-owned engineering business specialising in bespoke machinery and automation solutions.

You will take designs from concept through to manufacture, testing and delivery, using SolidWorks, collaborating with manufacturing, automation and electrical engineers, and liaising with suppliers and customers.

Qualifications

• Qualified Mechanical Engineer or Mechatronics Engineer.
• Experience with special purpose machinery, automation, packaging equipment or a similar environment.
• Experience with SolidWorks.
• Understanding of pneumatic and motion control systems.
• Experience working with suppliers and cross-functional engineering teams.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong time management and organisational skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Comfortable working within a hands-on engineering and manufacturing environment.
• Self-motivated with a practical engineering mindset.

Responsibilities

• Developing customised mechanical concepts and solutions.
• Taking projects from concept and detailed design through manufacture, testing and delivery.
• Producing mechanical designs using SolidWorks.
• Working with pneumatic and motion control devices and systems.
• Collaborating with mechanical, automation and electrical engineers.
• Working closely with manufacturing and assembly teams.
• Liaising with suppliers to select appropriate hardware and components.
• Working with customers to understand requirements and develop practical solutions.
• Managing multiple projects, priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
• Maintaining accurate engineering and project documentation.
