Job summary

Task Recruitment in Tasmania is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to design cab systems for large heavy-duty machinery, contributing to driver safety and comfort. You will work on the design of cab components, using ProE/Creo and Teamcenter, and help drive from concept to production.

Responsibilities include prototype build, testing, and analysis, developing functional requirements, and supporting proposals and cost estimates. Australian residency is required for a 12-month contract in Burnie.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree required or equivalent.
• Experience with Caterpillar products or similar heavy machinery preferred.
• Proficiency with ProE/Creo and Teamcenter.

Are you an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer who has a passion for designing, developing, building and implementing components and technologies that contribute to both driver safety and comfort?

We have an opportunity to join the team in Tasmania at the centre of excellence for a global OEM leader in mining equipment, technology and digital solutions. You'll contribute to the design of driver cab systems for large heavy duty machinery.

Responsibilities

• Design and development of cab systems and components. Utilize ProE/Creo and Teamcenter to create new designs required to solve complex cab related problems and facilitate print release for factory implementation.
• Organizing, coordinating, and executing the building, testing, and analysis of prototypes. Provide build support for pilot and production factory cab builds.
• Developing and documenting functional requirements and translating into detail design documents.
• Participating in and supporting proposal preparation, cost estimates, and technical reports.

• Product Design and Development: Knowledge of product features; ability to design, build, and develop a new product, technology, or service from concept through to production.

Qualifications/Experience Requirements

• Desired - Degree in an accredited Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science curriculum
• Previous experience working with Caterpillar products and/or in a similar role
• Proficiency in ProE/CREO.
