Job summary

Komatsu Australia is seeking an Electrical Engineer – PDI & Reman to design electrical solutions for heavy mobile equipment and support remanufacture processes. The role collaborates with Operations and Engineering teams to deliver safe, compliant designs that improve machine performance.

You will drive reliability improvements, report KPIs, and help evolve national engineering standards while working onsite in Welshpool.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering.
• Knowledge of Australian and international electrical standards.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• ISO 9001 knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical solutions for heavy mobile equipment across Australia.
• Provide specialist engineering support for remanufacture of motors, alternators and generators.
• Develop and report on KPIs (Power BI, Excel).
• Ensure designs comply with relevant standards and contribute to continuous improvement.

The Opportunity

Join Komatsu as an Electrical Engineer – PDI & Reman and play a key role in designing and developing electrical solutions for heavy mobile equipment across Australia. Working closely with Operations and Engineering teams, you'll deliver innovative, safe and compliant designs that enhance machine performance and customer outcomes.

You'll also provide specialist engineering support for the remanufacture of motors, alternators and generators, driving reliability and continuous improvement initiatives. This is an opportunity to work on diverse projects, influence national engineering standards and contribute to industry-leading equipment solutions.

What we are looking for

• Design software experience preferred but not essential (Creo parametric, Creo Schematic, Solid Edge and Windchill/PLM)
• Knowledge of engineering fundamentals Design processes:
• Conceptual design through detailed design including validation and verification
• Knowledge of relevant Australian and international electrical standards and ability to apply them throughout the design process.
• Development and reporting on KPIs (Power BI Excel)
• Understanding of Quality Management and Continuous Improvement techniques. (ISO 9001)
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Sound analytical, organisation and problem-solving skills.
• High personal standards and values.
• Good understanding of mechanical and hydraulic engineering

Qualification/s

• Required - Bachelor’s degree qualification in Engineering (Eletrical or Mechatronics)
• Preferred but not essential – Chartered, NER or RPEQ accreditation
