Job summary

Mission Critical Recruitment seeks a Mechanical Commissioning Engineer to support large data centre commissioning projects in Melbourne, VIC. You will provide engineering and technical support to plan, schedule, coordinate and execute full life cycle commissioning of critical facilities, from early design through witness testing to handover.

You’ll work on mechanical systems such as chilled water, HVAC, CRAC/CRAH, cooling towers and BMS.

Qualifications

• Mech qualified (trade or tertiary).
• Commissioning experience in complex or critical environments, data centre experience not essential.
• Background may be in pharma, hospitals, airports, universities or industrial facilities.
• Excellent documentation skills and strong communication; technically minded.
• Ability to present complex ideas to non-technical audiences.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and remaining calm under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, coordinate and execute full life cycle commissioning of critical data centre facilities.
• Involve in all stages of commissioning from early design to witness testing and project handover.
• Support engineering and technical teams across mechanical systems including chilled water, HVAC, CRAC/CRAH units, cooling towers and BMS.

The nature of this role is to provide engineering and technical support to plan, schedule, coordinate and execute full life cycle commissioning of critical data centre facilities. You will be involved in all stages of commissioning, from early design, managing commissioning scripts, witness testing through to project handover.

You'll work across complex mechanical systems including:

• Chilled water and cooling systems
• HVAC and air-handling systems
• CRAC/CRAH units
• Cooling towers
• BMS

Requirements

• Mechanically qualified (trade or tertiary)
• Data centre experience not essential but commissioning experience in complex or critical environments.
• Your background could be in pharmaceutical, hospitals, airports, universities industrial facilities etc.
