Job summary

Mission Critical Recruitment in Melbourne is seeking a Mechanical Commissioning Engineer to lead the full lifecycle commissioning of critical data centres. You will plan, schedule and coordinate commissioning activities across mechanical systems including chilled water, HVAC, CRAC/CRAH units and BMS, from early design through witness testing to handover.

The role requires a mechanical qualification and experience commissioning in complex environments; strong documentation and communication

Qualifications

• Mechanical qualification (trade or tertiary) required.
• Experience in commissioning in complex or critical environments.
• Background in pharma, hospitals, airports, universities, or industrial facilities.
• Strong documentation and communication skills; able to explain ideas to non-technical audiences.
• Able to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, coordinate and execute full life cycle commissioning of data centres.
• Involve all stages from early design to handover, including witness testing.
• Work on chilled water, cooling systems, HVAC, CRAC/CRAH, cooling towers, and BMS.
• Present complex ideas clearly to non-technical audiences.

Mechanical Commissioning Engineer - Data Centres

MCR are recruiting a Mechanical Commissioning Engineer to work on large, high profile data centre commissioning projects in Melbourne.

The nature of this role is to provide engineering and technical support to plan, schedule, coordinate and execute full life cycle commissioning of critical data centre facilities. You will be involved in all stages of commissioning, from early design, managing commissioning scripts, witness testing through to project handover.

You’ll work across complex mechanical systems including:

• Chilled water and cooling systems
• HVAC and air-handling systems
• CRAC/CRAH units
• Cooling towers
• BMS

Requirements

• Mechanically qualified (trade or tertiary)
• Data centre experience not essential but commissioning experience in complex or critical environments.
• Your background could be in pharmaceutical, hospitals, airports, universities industrial facilities etc.
• Excellent documentational skills, strong communicator and technically minded.
• Must know how to present complex ideas to non-technical audiences.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment and remain calm under pressure
