Job summary

Weatherford is seeking an experienced Wireline Mechanic to join our team in Roma, Queensland. The role covers inspection, maintenance, repair and servicing of wireline and related mechanical equipment in both workshop and field environments.

You will diagnose faults, read mechanical drawings, perform basic fabrication, ensure safety and quality, and maintain records while supporting operations and on-call duties.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ hands-on mechanic/maintenance experience in the wireline industry.
• Technical training, apprenticeship or equivalent mechanical qualification.
• Experience in mechanical troubleshooting, repair and maintenance.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and schematics.
• General knowledge of hydraulic and electronic systems.
• Valid Australian driver’s licence.
• Ability to work flexible and extended hours, including on-call duties.

Responsibilities

• Replace and install components in accordance with OEM specifications and Company procedures.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance in workshop and field environments.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics and technical manuals.
• Carry out basic cutting, welding and fabrication when required.
• Safely operate forklifts, overhead cranes and lifting equipment when authorised.
• Maintain accurate maintenance and inspection records.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with Weatherford QHSE standards.
• Work closely with Operations and other teams to support customer and business requirements.
• Participate in on-call duties and flexible working arrangements as required.
