W Wall and Sons is seeking a skilled Mechanic to join our team in Nebo, QLD 4742. You will be responsible for maintaining equipment and vehicles to high standards, ensuring safety and efficiency across our operations.

The role requires proven experience on large machines such as loaders, dump trucks, and excavators, and proficiency with hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and testing repaired equipment. A valid driver’s license and a strong safety mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a mechanic on large machines ( loaders, dump trucks, excavators ).
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools and diagnostic equipment.
• Ability to troubleshoot and work independently with attention to safety.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair faults on Komatsu and Caterpillar machines and crushing plant, fixed and mobile.
• Perform routine maintenance and servicing to prevent breakdowns.
• Inspect machinery and vehicles to identify issues and improvement areas.
• Replace worn or damaged components with precision and care.
• Test repaired equipment to ensure safe and effective operation.
• Maintain detailed records of all maintenance and repairs.
• Operate diagnostic tools to identify mechanical problems.
• Collaborate with the team to meet maintenance schedules.

W Wall and Sons is seeking a skilled Mechanic to join our team in Nebo, QLD 4742. As a Mechanic, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our equipment and vehicles are maintained to the highest standards, directly contributing to the efficiency and safety of our operations.

What you'll be doing

• Diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults in equipment and vehicles in particular on Komatsu and Caterpillar machines and Crushing Plant both fixed and mobile.
• Performing routine maintenance and servicing tasks to prevent equipment breakdowns
• Inspecting machinery and vehicles to identify potential issues and areas for improvement
• Replacing worn or damaged components with precision and attention to detail
• Testing repaired equipment to ensure it operates safely and effectively
• Maintaining detailed records of all maintenance and repair work completed
• Operating diagnostic equipment and tools to identify mechanical problems accurately
• Collaborating with team members to ensure timely completion of repairs and maintenance schedules

What we're looking for

• Proven experience working as a Mechanic in particular on larger machines eg loaders, dump trucks, excavators.
• Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools and diagnostic equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
• A thorough understanding of mechanical systems and equipment maintenance protocols.
• A valid driver's licence.
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to health and safety standards.
• Reliability and good work ethics.
• Ability to work unsupervised.
