Job summary

The Mechanic/Boilermaker role with Western Downs Regional Council is based in Tara, QLD. You will diagnose, repair and maintain Council equipment such as loaders, dozers, graders, road rollers, backhoes and trucks, providing workshop services across the region to continuously improve operations.

Ideal candidates hold a Diesel Fitter trade qualification and an OH&S White Card. The package includes relocation assistance up to $5,000, a 9 day fortnight, corporate health plan, mental health support

Job description

The Mechanic/Boilermaker is responsible for diagnosing, repairing and maintaining Council equipment such as loaders, dozers, graders, road rollers, backhoes and trucks along with providing workshop services across the region. The major focus of the role is to continuously improve operations.

This role encompasses a range of duties and responsibilities which may vary as directed by Council. The key ones include:

Mechanical trade

• Diagnosing malfunctions in machinery and equipment
• Dismantling, repairing, rebuilding, assembling and installing parts to vehicles, construction and industrial machinery in the field and in the Workshop.
• Requisitioning needed spare parts.
• Interpreting specifications and job orders for assigned duties.

This position is based in Tara.

• OH&S Construction Safety Induction White Card;
• Trade qualification as Diesel Fitter; and
