Engineering Trades Australia are currently seeking experienced Mechanical Fitters to join a close-knit maintenance team supporting mining and quarry maintenance projects across North Queensland. This is a 6-month casual contract with strong potential for ongoing employment for candidates who perform well and meet site expectations.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in mechanical fitting.
• Experience in mining, quarrying or fixed-plant maintenance.
• Strong fault-finding and maintenance skills.
• Manual driver's licence required.
• Own fitting tool bag.

Responsabilités

• Mechanical fitting, repairs and component replacements.
• Maintenance of crushers, screens, conveyors, pumps and fixed-plant equipment.
• Diagnosing faults and troubleshooting breakdowns.
• Planned and reactive maintenance.
• Welding and fabrication as required.
• Drilling, tapping and assembly work.
• Shutdown and project maintenance.
• Alignment, torqueing and tensioning.
• Flange management and general mechanical maintenance.
• Work safely and to site standards.

Engineering Trades Australia are currently seeking experienced Mechanical Fitters to join a close-knit maintenance team supporting ongoing mining and quarry maintenance projects across North Queensland.

This is a 6-month casual contract with strong potential for ongoing employment for candidates who perform well and meet site expectations.

About the Role

You will be responsible for planned and reactive maintenance across a range of fixed-plant equipment within mining and quarry environments.

Key responsibilities include:

• Mechanical fitting, repairs and component replacements
• Maintenance of crushers, screens, conveyors, pumps and other fixed-plant equipment
• Diagnosing faults and troubleshooting breakdowns
• Planned and reactive maintenance
• Welding and fabrication-related fitting as required
• Drilling, tapping and assembly work
• Shutdown and project maintenance
• Alignment, torqueing and tensioning
• Flange management and general mechanical maintenance
• Working safely and efficiently to site and client standards

About You

To be successful, you will have:

• Relevant Mechanical Fitting trade qualification
• Previous experience in mining, quarrying or fixed-plant maintenance
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and maintenance skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Strong commitment to safety and quality
• Manual driver's licence - essential
• Own fitting tool bag
• Ability to pass an MMQ medical

• Roster: 7 days on / 7 days off

• Accommodation: Provided in Mareeba during rostered swings
