Job summary

Tasmanian Quality Meats Pty Ltd is seeking Skilled Meat Workers to join our team at the Cressy Plant. These permanent, full-time roles are based on 38 hours per week, with remuneration between $60,000 and $70,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Candidates must have knife-handling experience and be capable of slaughtering and boning tasks across the production line. A pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol testing is required, and reliable attendance is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years experience in meat processing.
• Excellent knife skills and knife handling.
• Ability to perform slaughtering and boning tasks.

Responsibilities

• Eviscerates and trims animal carcasses.
• Prepare carcasses for processing by removing organs and hides.
• Cut meat to separate meat, fat and tissue from bones.
• Trim and prepare carcasses for boning.
• Operate switching controls to direct carcasses to boning tables.
• Operates restrainer and stunning equipment.
• Stuns and kills livestock.
• Slaughter according to religious customs.
