You will undertake some Home Room Teacher responsibilities, serving as a consistent point of contact for a small group of students and supporting their engagement, wellbeing and educational progress. You will support students to develop positive routines, goal-setting skills and readiness for learning, work collaboratively with teachers, youth workers and support staff to support student success, contribute to a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment, monitor, assess and report on student progress, and support students to achieve academic, social and personal growth.

About you

• A registered teacher, or eligible for registration, with the Queensland College of Teachers
• Experienced or confident teaching Mathematics and/or Science in a secondary setting
• Passionate about supporting young people who may have previously disengaged from education
• Flexible, resilient and relationship-focused
• Committed to inclusive education and student wellbeing
• Able to contribute positively to a collaborative and multidisciplinary team environment
• Experience working with students presenting complex educational, behavioural or wellbeing needs will be highly regarded but is not essential
