Educationhq seeks a proactive Teacher of Mathematics for Googong High School (Prov) to join a pioneering STEM faculty as the school opens in 2027. The role may include teaching Science and contributing to school-wide initiatives.

The successful candidate will hold NSW teaching approval (7-12) and engage with a bold curriculum built on Learning Sciences, RECONI skills, and collaboration across disciplines.

Teacher Mathematics - Googong High School (Prov)

Googong High School will open to year 7 and 8 students in 2027. Situated in the Queanbeyan Network on Ngambri and Ngunnawal Country, the school serves a rapidly growing, highly engaged and aspirational community, with the potential for the school to expand to cater for approximately 2000 students.

The Teacher - Mathematics - will be a founding member of our interdisciplinary STEM faculty. This faculty will encompass Mathematics, Science and TAS. Whilst this role is for a Mathematics Teacher, successful applicants will take a key role in being part of larger school initiatives and may also be required to teach Science.

Googong High School is being designed around an exciting and innovative curriculum structure that is founded in Learning Sciences. As a new school with the opportunity to establish a dynamic and contemporary culture, the school is building a learning design that reflects a broad research base in effective and modern teaching practices. This includes a whole school skills framework (RECONI) and teachers are well placed to build on these learning skills both through direct teaching and supporting other staff to implement these skills in their own subjects.

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
