Job summary

Newcastle Anglican Schools Corporation is seeking a senior educational leader for Manning Valley Anglican College in Taree, NSW to drive curriculum leadership and improve student outcomes. The successful candidate will mentor staff, oversee curriculum planning and assessment, ensure NSW compliance, and foster a collaborative, data-informed department culture.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a middle or senior leadership role within a NSW school context.
• Ability to lead a teaching team, mentor staff and drive improvement.
• Strong knowledge of NSW curriculum, NESA syllabuses, assessment and reporting.
• Experience with curriculum planning, assessment moderation and data-informed practice.
• Ability to use student data to identify priorities and support teaching and learning.
• Experience managing department operations and budgeting.
• Excellent communication with students, staff, parents and carers.
• High proficiency with digital platforms and school systems.
• NSW teaching qualifications and accreditations; postgraduate qualifications desirable.
• First aid, WWCC, and relevant criminal history checks.

Responsibilities

• Lead curriculum planning and assessment moderation for the department.
• Monitor data-informed teaching practices to improve student outcomes.
• Support professional growth and performance management of teaching staff.
• Oversee departmental operations, resources and scheduling.
• Collaborate with other departments and communicate with families.
