Job summary

Doncaster Secondary College in Victoria is seeking graduates for Range 1 classroom teaching roles. New teachers will receive mentoring, structured support, and induction programs to integrate curriculum, assessment and pedagogy.

Qualifications

Knowledge of the relevant curriculum and capacity to respond to student learning needs.
Ability to implement high impact teaching strategies guided by how students learn and to evaluate their impact on learning growth.
Ability to monitor and assess student learning and to use data to inform teaching practice with feedback to students and parents.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with students, parents, colleagues and the school community.

Responsibilities

Plan and implement a range of teaching programs or courses of study.
Teach an area of the curriculum or a general curriculum to a year level.
Monitor, evaluate and report student progress in key learning areas.
Maintain records of class attendance and student progress; implement effective student management.
Work with a mentor for professional development planning and reflection to develop a professional portfolio.
Supervise student activities and contribute to co-curricular programs.
